Dr Farhana trained in medicine at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, and completed postgraduate training at Universiti Malaya. Her qualifications include MRCP (UK), Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists, United Kingdom (FRCR), and a Master of Medicine in Diagnostic Radiology. She also completed a Fellowship in Breast Imaging at University Malaya Medical Centre.
Before joining Hospital Picaso in April 2025, she was an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Imaging at Universiti Malaya. She continues to contribute to postgraduate medical education and is now a Visiting Senior Lecturer with the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA.
Her clinical practice and research interests encompass Breast Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging and Neuroradiology, with an additional interest in theranostics. Her academic and research work includes mammographic density and the assessment of breast lesions.
Her clinical and educational work includes PET/CT and hybrid imaging in oncology, alongside breast cancer imaging and image-guided procedures. She has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications and presented extensively at national and international conferences.
She is actively involved in advancing radiology and nuclear medicine education, professional standards and multidisciplinary collaboration.
